Serves me right for being away for a few days(having those bolts in my neck seen to). You guys have been dropping pennies in the e-well and waiting for the sound of them hitting bottom. Piiiinnng! I haven't mentioned my own acoustic bass; my 5-string Laskin. Beautiful looking koa back & sides, bear-claw spruce top and tribute to Sondheim inlay. All of the comments are accurate. This instrument has a voice of its own and that voice is fairly quiet. Good amplification or subtle playing on the part of my friends helps but this will never be a stand-up bass. Still I love it. Michael
