I have been dreading this since first he shared his diagnosis with us all. His positive attitude was humbling, and I'm sure that's what got him this far. I have had a couple of friends with that form of cancer, and it's not one that many survive at all. Alan did well to make it this far, and many of us will miss his contribution to our lives, his positivity, and his all round good guy personality. We chatted on Messenger a couple of times, and through him I made contact with someone I had known from the 60's folk scene in London, Colin Wilkie. Colin left us recently too, so all in all it's been a sad old world lately. RIP Alan, you were an example to us all mate.
