Next-door neighbour's daughter (the veterinary nurse who is a shepherdess with a flock of twenty-two sheep) has taken in a new ram, a Herdwick sheep (from the Lake District area). She's called him Horatio, and he has the most magnificent set of curly horns (two pairs!). In spite of being a ram, he's incredibly gentle and affectionate. She visits her herd early each morning, and fills up the treat balls (plastic roly-poly containers with tasty grains inside) Every sheep has a name, and they absolutely love her.
