I sang this song in a pub in Dromahair, Co Leitrim one St Patrick's Day. It went down well, but one lady, who must have been younger than she looked came up & said 'that's a great song, but could you tell me what's a half-crown? It was 12 and a half UK pence or two shillings and sixpence in old money- the coin went out of circulation in 1970.
