My worst musical experience came early last year when I had to have a MRI scan. They asked me what I wanted on the headphones and I said I didn’t know (on reflection, I might have suggested Classic FM). The radio station they gave me was awful. I got a bit panicky towards the later part of the scan and got them to stop. They forgot to put the radio back on when they resumed. It didn’t make me feel any more relaxed but just hearing the rumbles of the machine was better than the “music”. Of course the person making the choice of station for me wouldn’t have realised how awful I’d find it – she probably thought she was making a nice choice for me… – Think someone mentioned Glam Rock above… Slade, T Rex, etc. are a pretty good slot for me (b. 1960).
