Well thanks for clarifying that, Steve! My misconception was due to the builders of my guitar telling me that all of their instruments are named after Devon waterways, although where/how I made the Barnstaple connection is a mystery to me - I’m guessing I’d drawn it from a conversation at some time or other.

Whatever, the guitar was built at the Brook Guitars’ workshop at Easterbrook, nr. Hittisleigh, Devon - I know for sure that I’m correct on that because I’ve been there, stayed overnight at the pub in Spreyton, spent the next morning at the workshop while the guys did some work on my guitar. It’s a beautiful instrument.
