Texas isn't just big, it offers a lot of variety. My sister just came back from a ride through East Texas and was amazed to discover that it's covered with forest.

Verse 3 above has this:

   So the grant it was made and the deed it was given;
   The Lord He returned to His place up in heaven.

I've heard two variants on that:

   The Lord he returned to his SPREAD up in heaven; and
   The Lord he returned to his GOLF up in heaven.

The golf reference might not be well received today. Ahem.
