I fell in love with "Ten Thousand Miles" when I first heard Brian Peters sing (live and terrific) a version that was noticeably different from the song as I learned it 50 years ago. That led me to Nic Jones's gorgeous version, which in turn took me to Mary Chapin Carpenter's orchestrated rendition--and now I see that June Tabor also released an orchestrated version, which I think came before Carpenter's.
