I would guess (if it's worth anything -- I'm no expert, please) that you'd be pressed to find something that sounds like untutored village singer amateurs in an unmediated oral tradition (if you follow what I mean), since the song was brought to attention as a presentational, stage song. Nor, my impression, do Chinese tend to favor the same aesthetic of "authenticity" that we might see in the revival performances of English folk material. To make matters worse, "minority ethnic groups" tend to be treated like Disneyland characters.
