Tonight's Radio 3 in Concert turned out to be good. I was expecting the Schubert - though not with puppets - but not what followed: Barokksolistene play The Alehouse Sessions The dynamic Norway-based baroque supergroup caused a sensation with their 2017 album The Alehouse Sessions. Tonight, in the Tudor setting of London's Middle Temple Hall, they recreate the tumultuous atmosphere of London's 17th-century taverns and theatres with their unique interpretations of Purcell overtures, sea shanties and the occasional Scandinavian folk song.
