DtG.. there is a form of oral tradition that still persists. When someone does a song that YOU don't know and you get them to teach it to you without even discussing the source... but of course, Google can usually find it, so your point is well-taken. One element does still persist... 'folk processing'. I have added a verse or changed a word..... or even mis-heard a line... and passed it on. What I hate is when the Folk Processor is set on 'puree' and a mostly trad song becomes almost unrecognizable.
