I wrote a new verse for ‘Shady Grove’ which I sing quite often in jams. My closest friends say this verse is good, so I am sharing it here in the forum. Feel free to use it, and I’d be interested in any feedback or other thoughts you may have. Leaving down the mountain side, ne’er to come again. Shady Grove is lost to me, she’s found another man. The heart it is a gentle thing, sometimes made of gold. Mine is broken, ne’er to mend. Forever dark and cold.
