The song was written when I lived in Suffolk, We used to go to a pub in Earl Soham for a session, There was a tradtional singer called Tony Harvey, who had been listening, he came up to me and said I have a horse and trap outside, would you sing a song for me on my way home, I agreed, and sang On One April Morning with Concertina Accompaniment, he was delighted and insisted I had a supper with him, he then stuffed Fifty pounds into my hand, complimented me on my singing, and drove me back to the pub in his horse and trap. He was a generous man and a singer of note himself, I recall it was a Balmy calm summers evening. A fond memory.
