Monique 'Isabeau S'y Promene' and 'She's Like a Swallow' (10) RE: 'Isabeau S'y Promene' and 'She's Like a Swallow' 23 May 22

It may have been either as the theme is the same, i.e. a naive young girl deceived by a young man (who doesn't say "thank you for the nice moment", nor does he ask "how much do I owe you?" either!)

She's Like a Swallow by Cara Dillon, She's Like a Swallow by Dara Schindelka, Isabeau s'y promène by Roch Voisine, a variant by Malicorne. This is the version I learned as a child but my mother would sing "Je pleure mon cœur volage que vous m'avez volé" (I mourn/weep for my inconstant heart that you stole from me) while this version says "Je pleure mon pucelage..." (I mourn/weep for my maidenhead..."). Sometimes it says "Je pleure mon avantage" (... my advantage) which is the very same thing anyway.
