Not a lot happening up here north of the border. City of Edinburgh Council did publish a list of street closures for street parties: only about 10 in the whole metropolis of “greater Edinburgh”. There’s a free concert on in Princes St Gardens this afternoon, but this was only announced earlier in this last week. We were out celebrating on Friday night, but this was the 50th anniversary of our local rugby club: should have been in 2020, but twice postponed because of Covid. The church minister who said grace before the meal did conclude with “God save the Queen”. As for last night, we didn’t survive long at the Jubilee concert. Soon switched over to other channels, mainly BBC ALBA, where you could watch in black-and-white! Fyfe Robertson (remember him?) doing a documentary on a visit to the Western Isles: whisky galore an a’ that!
