The destruction by fire of NDdeP some years back was, surprisingly, a visceral shock to me, but, after a while, I did think the necessary restoration/rebuilding might give an opportunity to acknowledge how the demographics and indeed the civilisation in the country has changed, irrevocably, from the era of the Cathedral's design and construction. The Cross over the Crossing should really, now, be accompanied by a Crescent, and, for balance, a six-pointed Star. Would that not be a fine symbol of Pluralism, Multi-Culturalism, Miscegenation and Tolerance? Or, at least, an amusing consideration to dispel, momentarily and in different ways for different people, the Weariness which may be found in the News. I prefer the Olds.
