He had been working for the past couple of decades with Hilary Spencer, as the duo Quicksilver. I met him on a few occasions, and each time was struck by his musicianship, humour, and warmth. Because of his warmth and friendliness I felt I knew him better than I actually did, and I am very sad to hear of his passing. Much sympathy to Hilary, and to his wife and family, and all who knew him well. The great Session in the Sky has gained another shining star, to our loss.
