Well in all my years as a school pupil, I never saw anyone injured. Nor as a teacher (but I retired many years ago). And the side table in every classroom was loaded with the pupils conkers-on-strings until playtime arrived. I often did 'playground duty' and even 'lunchtime duty' as a teacher, and quite enjoyed watching the conker challenges. I suppose I must adapt to all these changes in the world today.
