Ronnie Clarke and Carl McDougall were waiting for the late night bus in George Square when they were motivated to compose this song! (Ronnie telt us the story o' it at The Glasgow Ballad Workshop, which he founded along with Gordeanna McCulloch and Anne Neilson and I think Adam McNaughtan - he has certainly been part o' it since inception!) Yes Hamish Imlach picked up the song and many folks learned it frae him - but many ithers o' us learned it frae ither sources and huv been singin' it under oor ain steam!
