On cable TV, I recorded and watched "The Lion in Winter". It won all sorts of acclaim and a best actress for Katharine Hepburn?. It was dramatic and visually amazing... but the plot, taken loosely from history, was tedious.... as everyone's personality kept bouncing from 'friendly' to 'hateful'. They all accused each other of lying and sometimes admitting it and sometimes denying in order to jockey for personal advantage. It was almost impossible to guess who supported whom from one moment to the next. The ending was almost a parody of whatever the overall point was! I can't say I enjoyed it, but was merely fascinated, like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
