Veteran Scottish singer Fraser Bruce has recently published a book titled "The Folk River" about the development of organised folk music in Scotland. In it he credits "Singing Together" as having played a substantial part in his interest in folk. I feel similarly and still remember substantial parts of some of the songs. Watching a recent TV show, one of the characters (a Cornishman) began to sing "Song of the Western Men" and I found myself joining in it with him, although I have never sung it since primary school, best part of sixty years ago.
