Yes, Jack, I can see the resemblance even to 'Hexhamshire Lass' which is also derived from 'Aye Waukin o' Jon, as posted in July 21 the lyrics were attributed to D K Gavan, the Galway Poet, in the original sheet music. Kilgarriff doesn't list the song in Harry Sydney's productions but he does say 'little of his vast output was published'. However listed as by Sydney is 'Whisky in the Jar'. I'd like a copy of that one!
