Dried basil tastes less like licorice than fresh. I dislike the licorice flavor, so I prefer dried. Am going to try a choucroute garnie, which to me means saurkraut in wine with sausages. To be authentically Alsacian I would need juniper berries... so, inauthentic. Faux.
