this evening, on the anniversary of Rabbie Burns' birthday (and also Ewan MacColl's), BBC Radio Ulster aired a programme about "fellow" songwriter, Lady Nairne. I recognised that name right away, but didn't recognise the name "Carolina Oliphant". I found the programme, immensely interesting, and commend it to you - even though it is mostly talk and a lot of the singing featured is performed in what I would call a parlour song style.
