I learned this song from an album called Duets with the Spanish Guitar, by Laurindo Almeida collaborating with mezzo-soprano Sally Terri and a flautist whose name I have clean forgot. Sally Terri sings it clean and straight, against Almeida’s tastefully sparse accompaniment. Richard Dyer Bennet’s version makes my ears squint.
