Daniel, events get organised because there are dedicated people, my village has a population of 250 people but we have several music festvals at least 5, it involves a lot of work.
I run a weekly tune session and a festival, but fortunately there is still a feeling of community in rural ireland
I have worked on the uk folk scene for over 40 years, if dedicated organisers had not run those events[ a number of them communists] there would have been nowhere for me to sing and play,
I would like to thank them all.
I am delighted to hear there are young people playing and singing in the UK as well as in Ireland
