You virgins fair pray give attention
To these lines which I have penned
My joys are more than I can mention
Cupid now has proved my friend

These eyes that were sad with sorrow

My prattling babes with love inspire

And whilst they are seated round the fire
Each tuneful lip drives cares away
At night the gentle robes of Morpheus
Crown me with joy me and my dove
