The first episode is harrowing, and probably should come with a 'trigger warning' - maybe it does; it's been a year or two since I looked at it - the second episode, by contrast, was dull for me, since I didn't know and had little interest in the personalities and music he talks about - but the thirty or forty episodes after that are a wild ride. The following ten or so episodes, I continued to find engaging, but that was largely because I was familiar with most of the people, places, and events he talks about in them. My interest waned with two or three episodes left, and I haven't watched them yet. Be aware that, like most good story-tellers, JP is given to hyperbole. Also, remember that you're getting 'one side of the story' (I often find myself appalled when I read youtube comments by how many people seem to unquestioningly, uncritically, and unskeptically accept as gospel truth whatever the person on the screen tells them). Furthermore, I felt some of his remarks about his ex-wife were remarkably indiscreet, particularly in some of those moments when he was clearly taking pains to be fair to her, which is ironic. That said - I highly recommend the series. In fact, I believe I did so here, when I was first watching it ... !
