One of my trade euphemisms is "fsck": it's the name of the file-system checker in UNIX Classic, but is often seen as a term of frustration (if you have to invoke the program at the command line, you are by definition already having a Bad Day). One of the most hilarious exchanges on a certain technical talker involved one of the regulars logging on and fulminating at length about the "fsckwits" in management, whose wetware was clearly suffering bit rot.
