Steve, I almost posted this to the "Rake and Rambling Boy"("Wild and Wicked Youth") thread, but I quickly realized it's "Died for Love." On your suggestion I've revisited ECCO and find "The Rambling Boy" garland published by Goggin of Limerick "c1790." The 1862 U.S. text was obviously inspired by "The Rambling Boy" but has lost some stanzas and added those about the sea. Lloyd recorded a first cousin as "The Isle of Cloy" (cf. "Augnacloy" in ECCO).
