Perhaps Donuel meant to say, "Many people wonder what Trump tapped into to entice nearly half of the REPUBLICAN people to his version of populism."

Statistically it is still not correct but Donuel, generally I view your broad brush comments as thought provoking.

And don't forget that the TV persona of Trump has a very high influence. The disconnect between what is loosely referred to as "reality TV" and reality itself is difficult for some viewers to see. A TV star or Hollywood star projects an aura of being in control of dramatic situations and some voters project that carefully crafted and directed vision onto political reality.
