Utterly predictable and utterly disastrous US veto of the ceasefire resolution at the UN Security Council. That's 44 US vetos protecting Israel now. It's reached the point at which many people are saying (sorry about the weasel words, but it happens to be true) that the US is complicit in the slaughter of Gaza civilians, or that America is fighting another proxy war. They are certainly not imposing conditionality on Israel, just mouthing soft "words of concern," and are continuing to send them unlimited weapons. The pusillanimous abstention of the UK on spurious grounds must be giving Biden succour. I don't know how anyone can think that this disaster can ever help to provide the Israeli people the security they need. Not in a hundred years I'd say.
