Thanks for the final verse, MacGrath. As promised I offer in return a significant digression from this thread into temperance, to a familiar tune:

The drunkard then becomes subdued, the liquor takes its toll,

Well, like a lot of temperance songs this one is subject to corruption in the last verse. This song was written by one of Vince's friends, and I know one of his Halifax friends is a card carrying Mudcatter; maybe he can clear up who wrote it.
