In Dartmouth, NS, just over the bridge, at the folklorist Helen Creighton's old house, Evergreen House, now a museum: Trad Night Helen Creighton Folklore Society An evening of balladry and songs of old! Open Mic. Participants are asked to choose songs from the Helen Creighton Collection or similar collections. When: Every second Thursday of the month Time: 7-9pm Where: Evergreen House aka the Dartmouth Heritage Museum Cost: Donation There are also regular events called I Sing Therefore I Am and the Helen Creighton Folk Club.
