ARGH!!! I am soooo rubbish at this - had to get Joe O to help me reset my cookies or whatever. So then I read and thought I'd replied to your query - except all the stuff I wrote was not visible!
So - have just bitten the bullet and copied . pasted it on open forum - minus your name!!!
(someone now needs to give me a lesson in replying successfully to private messages!!!)

Hi weerover - did you ever go to Chez Suzettes just down from the
crossroads in Hamilton (Lanarkshire, not Ontario!!)
I was at Hamilton Academy from 1960-1966.... didn't live there., was
from Garrowhill area a good number of miles away - Hamilton Academy
took pupils from all over Lanarkshire that had achieved high grades
in 11+ exam!! (Didn't do all of us a lot of good, maybe have been
better to be a high flyer at Airdrie Academy of Uddingston Grammar,
than one of the crowd at Hamilton?!)
I am not sure if I remember a folk club - I lived quite far away and
had to get school buts home. - Did go to folk nights at Tall Tree club
a bit farther in towards Glasgow, also ones in our local
church hall.... I was also in a folk group while at Hamilton - by
accident! Twin brothers from the area / also at school were seeking a
female vocalist, I think when we were in 4th year> A pal asked me if I
would sing with her while she auditioned - and the brothers came to
me later and invited me to sing in their group! (playing tambourine,
singing This land is your land etc!!)
It was the era of folk type music on tv, and Corries concerts-----also
Scotia Bar etc, tho we wernae really old enough to gain entry -all so
long ago....
A xx
NB Did you ken Jack Foley?
