GUEST Origins: Little Red Wing / Union Maid (51* d) RE: Origins: Little Red Wing / Union Maid 16 Sep 24

I 1988 I wanted to sing this song Union Maid for my own gigs because of a an album the Harry Smoth folk collection. I have still got this to this day. The tune of Red Wing is on twise as diffrent songs. One is Union Maid recorded by the Almanac Singers recorded in 1941 and the other is Red Wing recorded by Riley Puckett. When I looked at Union Maid this song was written by Woody Guthriw and Lee Hayes. The tune was Red Wing written by Carey Mills in 1900. Through my years i have found a lot of songs set to the tune of this song and if you are a song writer I think you should write your own words. From Joe.
