I’ve been a rock climber for many a year
I spent all my money on bright Lycra gear
Now I’m retiring new routes in great store
And I will wear bright Lycra no more

I went to a gear shop I used to frequent
I told the assistant my my was spent
I asked her for discount
She answered me nay
Custom like yours I can get any day

I took from my pocket my Gold Card so bright
Her eyes opened wide with delight
We have ropes and helmets and Lycra that’s best
The words I spoke were only in jest.

I went to committee to confess what I’ve done
And asked them to pardon their prodigal son
And when they chastised me as oft times before
I promised to wear bright Lycra no more

When it is performed I pull out a pair of multi coloured lLycra tights that I wore some 35/40 years before , when I could climb reasonably hard grades. Of course they still fit as they can stretch considerably.
