This was on a browser screen out of sight since morning - and I've posted since then, so it is edited. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving and having the meal with friends and family. While that holiday is about the dinner, the most food activity people see from me on xmas is breakfast. Like Thanksgiving, it is another mobile holiday that lands when we can get the most of us together in one place. Certainly our most memorable xmas in recent years was during COVID, when we drove our cars to the parking lot outside the Panda Express at a location central to all of us. We each went into Panda, masked, and ordered our lunch then ate in our cars (it was cold and clear, no desire to set chairs in a circle). After the meal we took turns handing gifts through windows or unloading from hatchbacks and unwrapping in our cars. Still thinking about more lights. The next block over has done a bang up job and it feels wonderful to drive past. For social stuff this month I'm leading two tours at the art museum where I have volunteered for almost five years. There are always special exhibits and docents who jump on doing those (making it difficult to find a time to do any of those tours after doing all of the research); I've decided that I'm sticking with the B team and will continue to do the general collection tour (it changes enough on its own to keep me on my toes). I volunteer in the archives also and if I decide to develop my own specialty tour it won't depend on changing exhibits. These will be a party or two as well.
