My wife Kathy ("kathwestra") and I recorded "Four Loom Weaver" on our Folk-Legacy CD "Birds Of Passage". In researching its origin, I ran across this note in the Oxford English Dictionary:

"When weaving was done on large steam powered looms, the standard to which weavers aspired was to operate four looms simultaneously; industry-wide, a weaver operated an average of 3.8 steam looms.”

For what its worth.
