Nice to see this thread rejuvenated, because there's a new discussion to be had
now that there are so many more fine guitars at affordable prices.
But aside from the familiar names we have, for example, the Chibson
type: bespoke orders from China. I am not comfortable with the thought,
but, having seen and heard one a friend has bought, I was impressed.
Not exactly inexpensive, the Furch I have acquired is really excellent.
Regarding vintage, I wouldn't be happy spending so much on something
that looked like it came from a skip, no matter how great the sound.
And you just can't buy them at knock down prices.
