I've been listening to a podcast called Betwixt the Sheets. It's tag line is that it is the History of Sex, Scandal & Society. This morning on my way to water aerobics I was listening to an episode about The Magdalene Laundries and Mother and Babies Homes. Some of you may know something about the Magdalene Laundries. I thought I did but let me tell you that I've never listened to anything that filled me with horrified anger and disgust like the details of these two institutions. I was familiar with the Magdalene Laundries but I never realized the depth of the depravity. Spoiler alerts: 1) Mass grave containing almost 800 women and children. 2) The last Magdalene Laundry closed in 1998!
