One audience's 'nit' is n'other's heritage & culture. I know a lot of folks that feel the same way about Mel Gibson movies. Braveheart isn't a documentary. It's Jed Clampett with a brogue. Again with the maths and the born too late: It was not possible for Whall to have collected the subject “shanty” when and where it is placed. Not giving proper crediting to one's sources is both lousy fiction and nonfiction but for entirely different reasons.
