RandyL DTStudy: The Dying Cowboy (25) RE: DTStudy: The Dying Cowboy 21 May 25

Francis Henry Maynard was the unsung composer of the West's best-known
ballad (The Streets of Laredo),in his recovered memoir.
SOURCE:back cover of book, Edited and introduced by Jim Hoy My condolences to his passing, What a great cowboy!
He was named Kansan of the year in 2016, And received the Chester A Reynolds National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum Award in 2022.
In 1996 he was appointed to the board of Trustees of the American Folk Life Center at the Library of Congress. My last conversation with wonderful man we concluded The Dying Cowboy was indeed a Irish ballad, and linked to the melody of The Bard of Armagh, my intention is that you all pick up what I'm putting down.
