My oldest guitar is probably from the 70s but I do have a couple of old Gibson mandolins from the teens and twenties. Whilst old instruments do have a certain “mojo”, they do tend to need more maintenance and are harder to play than their modern equivalents.

CNC construction methods have certainly helped make cheaper, modern, instruments more playable although I wouldn’t put things down entirely to computerisation - most of my instruments come from workshops not using such new fangled novelties.
