(June 4, 1967): “Death Claims Emile Parra, Entertainer at Pat O’Brien’s" “New Orleans…Parra [1916-1967] claimed to have introduced the bawdy song, ‘Roll Your Leg Over,’ and called it the national college fraternity song. It is sung in frat houses throughout the nation, and Parra sang it at least once a night at his club….Parra began his career as an entertainer while he was still in high school [in New Orleans].” [I.e., before 1935.] FWIW.
