I watched a bit of the Mets/Dodgers last night and Mets pitcher Kodai Senga, a native of Japan, threw 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. When the pitching coach came to the mound for a conference he brought along Kodai's interpreter which to me was another indication, (along with the fact that the undisputed best player in the game, also a Japanese native, has won an MVP award in 3 of the last 4 years) that the notion that B-ball is "still American" is as antiquated as the myth that Abner Doubleday invented the game.
