Above the thread, below the thread. I'll adjust. It's funny; back in the sixties I tried to sound like an old codger sitting out on his front porch. (There are no front porches in NYC. Now I are one. I don't remember rules on posting songs. I've recorded a lot of stuff since I was last active. Oddly, it still sounds like me. Many years ago I was talking with the jazz guitarist, Sal Salvadore. I came to know him because he was living in Stamford, Connecticut. I was Executive Director at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center, and he was a member. I had a chance to hear him several times. He was with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. One of his closest friends was Tal Farlow who was voted Best Jazz Guitarist for many years in Downbeat magazine. he retired for several years, and I was excited when his first ew album came out. I mentioned to Sal that I could skat along with some of his ghuitar solos on the album because they were almost identical to some of his "improvised" solos on old albums. Sal said something I've always remembered. It applies to me as well as Tal. "A musician's style is the summation of his limitations." :-) I couldn't see any limitations that Tal Farlow had. I have plenty. I guess I must be stylish. :-)
