GUEST,Jim Bainbridge Tech: BBC service removal? (53* d) RE: Tech: BBC service removal? 11 Jul 25

UK residents pay for a licence for BBC services, wherever they go, although I don't & an increasing number do not, for good reasons. I recall struggling to pick up UK news via static-ridden shortwave World service broadcasts when I lived in El Hierro 25 years ago.

Things improved since, but now the worldwide service is to be greatly reduced again. This reduction in service is to save the BBC money & paid for by putting a lot of people to a lot of hassle & inconvenience as well.

It is like having £100 in my pocket in my control & the BBC takes away £50-   I object to this & am told they'll only take £25 now- and you call that a reasonable compromise??   not in my world pal- I await the howls of protest from July 21
