keberoxu sea shanties (119* d) RE: sea shanties in the UK 15 Aug 25

A friend of mine subscribes to the BBC Music Magazine, and lets me have older issues when he is finished with them.
Thus, I just acquired the issue from April 2022, when the UK along with the rest of us was just rebounding from the pandemic.
The author is a journalist named Freya Parr,
the article is called 'All Aboard!',
and the following musical groups are identified:

The Longest Johns (Bristol)
The Harry Browns
Batten Down the Hatches
High and Dry (Bristol)
Barrett's Privateers
The Fisherman's Friends (Cornwall)
The Roaring Trowmen

Much attention is paid to Nathan Evans, who in December 2020 is said to have made
a video of himself singing 'Wellerman' which went viral.
Interesting story: can anyone confirm that this happened?
(I'm in the US and ignorant of this development)
