In 2019, I was looking for information on Frankie & Johnny and found an old interview with a music historian or journalist of some kind. Foreshadowing: This will be a request for help. The interviewee had a lot of information about Frankie Baker, Al Britt, and the involved St. Louis street singers. One of them, Palmer Jones, took Bill Dooley's 1899 song, changed the names slightly, and had "Frankie and Albert" published nationally in 1908. AND, the article online contained a full set of Palmer's lyrics. I wrote down the lyrics, changed the names back to the real names of the St. Louis protagonists, and started singing it. But when I went back to scan and save the full article a few months later, it was gone! It's still gone, and now Perplexity is denying that any such lyrics exist in any accessible form. Does anyone know anything about where this source information might be? HELP!!
